Can you ignore mortality?

Human beings are not immortal. Whether you lead a wicked or a preposterous or even a promiscuous style of living, you  cannot ignore the fact of death. On the contrary, if you perform a sacred living, moral upbringing or follow a spiritual affinity, then also you cannot be immortal due to your great deeds. In short, no one can be an eternal entity. You cannot enjoy the grace of God to be present in this universe indefinitely. Even a religious guru of high stature has to face this not so pleasant, as people feel, and the monstrous fact of life. Despite this proven fact, we all have an illusory desire to have a perpetual existence in this universe. We want to have an urge to acquire more and more   information and bliss. Human beings may acquire unlimited knowledge as far as practicable and  have enough fun and frolic, but the certainty  of your existence with lithe always, is beyond imagination and it is an obtrusive enigma. You cannot live beyond a period even though you wish to gather tons of knowledge and religious power. The religious profundity will provide you a prowess and propitiate over immoralities and you may lead a life full of spirituality, but you cannot remain in this world immortal. The human being is treated to be the precious one amongst all other forms of life. So, they are empowered to think, discriminate, rationalize, judge and draw inference before arriving at a conclusion on any issues related to the life cycle. The body of all human beings, though, has above power, but still they have no respite from eternal existence. Needless to say that the human being has this advantage over all other creatures, but this does not provide any extra gratification to ignore mortality.

A human being can feel the existence of his mind, intellect and unbridled ego. The presence of a human being is finite and so, it is imperative that his intellect and his capabilities to perform various activities will be also finite. The existence of the unbridled ego in any human being forces him to think in a manner of arrogance and sometimes its influence is not very conductive.  In this state of existence, he thinks that he belongs to one thing or another; he is categorized to a particular region and he talks a particular language. All these thoughts push him to consider an erroneous feeling of perpetual existence in this world. Why it is so? Because the human beings think that they are the greatest creation of God and they are unique. They have a right to be immortal knowing fully well that this conceptual thinking, if at all is full of delusion. For the sake of argument, one question may crop up whether after the death of the physical body, is there any feeling of nationality, language or particular group?  One needs to deeply think that after the death, you have no existence of intellect, large ego and bragging power, because the physical body is destroyed.

Although some people opine that even after the death, there is an existence of a subtle body, which carries away the intelligence and perverted ego.  But there is no firm opinion on this aspect. As per Gita, all living beings, whether it is conscious units of life or the unconscious stage of the self, it is the intellectual power, which governs all of us. One thing is very important to note that we are the outcome of the marginal potency of the God. As per the Hindu mythology, an individual human being is “the spiritual entity, which has emanated from the potency of the absolute spiritual substance in the marginal potency.” This spiritual entity is layered with the three qualities of Maya, which are prosperous as well as the deluding factors in lives and they are sattva, rajas and tamas.  These qualities are the external potencies, which mostly enamor us to take various directions and routes to follow in our lives. You must accept the fact that the living beings or the souls are identical with the supreme power.  Why it is identical?  Because potency of the Supreme cannot be segregated from the substance. The reason is potency cannot be thought of in isolation of the substance.  In other words, the individual souls or the human beings are distinctly identified with the supreme.  It is an inner part of the power of the God and not of the substance.  Even the sum of all the potencies of the substances cannot become the substance.

God is the infinite and absolute entity, whereas the individual living beings are the finite and mortal entities. Human beings may be the spiritual fractions of the marginal potency of the absolute entity.  For example, the ray of the sun is different from the sun itself. The sun radiates the light whereas its ray scatters the same. So, there is a subtle difference.  The individual living beings are both distinct and non-distinct with respect to the power of the Lord.  This theory is a cogent and beyond dispute.  The real power of the living being is completely transcendental and is independent of acquired power of knowledge, intellect and complexity of mind. The eternity of soul is transcendental and so, the relationship between the knowledge and the mind is not so comprehensible unless the rudimentary power of external entity is thoroughly understood. The soul is eternal, but the body is finite element and so, we cannot be immortal. Self is desirous to be eternal and so is the case with all the living beings with all their intellect powers and wisdom remain in its place. Though at the end, one has to realize the fact of death, but most of us  grumble no sooner we are on the death bed to leave this world. Is there any alternative? Now, if you have borne, you have to die. So, to ignore mortality is like a wild goose chase. How much you love your beloved that is not so pertinent; you have to mentally prepared and accept the painful detachment sometime. The same thing is relevant for you also.
