Can you be joyous all the time?

People tend to celebrate  during various festivals, religious functions, social ceremonies  as they appear periodically in their lives.  They wait for the splendid moments, the victory of their favorite chosen teams or their children’s brilliant results. This  makes their lives, joyous and colorful. People wait for months after months to experience these type of  auspicious  moments to get ebullient.  For most of us, happiness is a special entity in life. But this happiness does not exist  always in the present.  Most of the time, the people consider the present is gloomy, full of despondency, despair and various obstacles as we only search for bigger enjoyment all the time. We seldom search for small things and events, which can otherwise make us happy, and if we want, we can celebrate  these small joys to our heart’s contents. Needless to say, since we are so much encumbered with relentless pain and misery, we are blind to identify joy and  prefer to wait for a particular month or time to celebrate the festival.  But you  must find out joy at every moment in your life, provided you change your mental attitude.

There are many reasons which snatch our happiness.  We take it granted that bliss is completely dependent on perfect external conditions and its influence on our mind.   Ignoring this theory, if we are able to reach and observe the external circumstances as it is, you may surprise to find out the same is so much enjoyable. But the truth is that the external circumstances  will not provide  you enough room to fulfill all your fantasies by which you will be happy. It can provide a small joyous situation.  So, no sooner you exert you believe and trust that the external circumstance will provide you happiness to your fullest satisfaction and it will be in abundance, it will bring less joy, but more frustration.

What could be the reasons? Firstly, the real happiness comes to you automatically when you focus your attention on deeper goals of serving other’s needs and establishing deeper connections with people coming in contact with you.  Secondly, whenever we pass through any type of problems, we take it granted that we cannot be in a position to achieve happiness.  This is wrong.  The happiness is a matter of your choice.  If you are able to rise above whatever pain and sufferings engulf you, it is possible to be happy.  Through continuous practice, you can subjugate your mind to be ecstatic by focusing all your attention on the positive aspects of the surroundings.  Even in the midst of obstacles, if you can find out the opportunities and work accordingly, you will find joy.  Thirdly, we confer ourselves to equate happiness with materialistic comfort and related enjoyment  accrued out of the same.  The materialistic comfort may be big enough and the same can make you greedy, lustful and run behind the same, but it cannot bring  absolute happiness. Why?  The reason is that the materialistic allurement only provides you external charm, satisfaction and gratification, but not happiness.  You may have enough wealth, adequate resources through which you can buy anything; still you may be the unhappy person.  The psychological researchers conclude that the people with enough money, power and wealth  who are supposed to be happy one, many times swirl in the convolution of despondency.  The basic reason is that money and wealth impairs the ability of people to savor everyday positive emotions and experiences and ultimately, making them unhappy.

If you want to have big joy, you have to foil very hard and it requires a sincere and painstaking effort.  If you just sit in a room sitting idle and wait for the particular incidence,  which will bring happiness for you, the same will only develop the negativities and wrong pattern of thoughts.  Ultimately, you will be in miseries and pain.  The best way to find out happiness is to appreciate small things, get involved  and focus on the same. Is it possible to  open your life to the abundant goodness that life provides us?   Why we are more gloomy and  less happy?  Since, we are mostly propelled by the mind’s hedonistic currents of pain and pleasure; we are not capable enough to experience the delight of the world that God has created for us.  Contrarily, all the things surrounding us provide a great delight of enjoyment.  If we can savor the fragrance of the same instead of running behind the big achievement, we can be happy most of the time.  Since, we encourage our minds to ponder on the hedonistic currents; we are completely detached   from the abundant joy, which we can get from the small small things.  We cling to our identities so much that we seldom come out from the slough of individual existence.  We forget the collective entities.  If we are able to come out from this faulty identification, the inner beauty of mind will prompt us to be loveable and this attitude will lessen all our sorrows.   Whether you bask in the sunlight or listen to a melodious song or have a heartwarming conversation with some of your friends, if you are able to connect yourself in totality with any activities, small or big, you are bound to be happy. What we need?  We have to get rid of the sense of separateness and hedonism.  This feeling will make you connect to the cosmos thereby make you to remain in a blissful environment.  Then this behavioral pattern  will enable you to get nourished continuously by the small joys that we ignore many times.  So, it is better to enjoy and take the warmth of the insignificant things and  when  you put all those things together happenings, it will  make your life glamorous and joyous.
