We all work for our existence and survival. We
shoulder various responsibilities related to our family, relatives and friends.
We are employed in any organization to do various techno-commercial activities
and against the same, we get a paycheck. But if you don’t get any benefit,
automatically your desire to do work ceases. Have you ever thought what
motivates you to do the work? Can you
realize why a pigeon sounds so much sitting on the balcony of the window? Can you wonder why a dog barks when he/ she
encounters any danger? Do they have a
motive or just a selfish end? What is
the reason of your taking various actions during the course of the day? Is it simply because of monetary gain or does
it provide a gratification in the deeper level?
The holy book Gita extols on the importance of
action. If you only think, but not taking
any action, the same will lead into frustration and anxiety, because action is
the fundamental principle, which propels
the cycle of life. Inaction means, your existence is in jeopardy. You are
almost like a dead person walking with a stick in life. Action uplifts your confidence, energy
and ability to prosper and this gives you a sense of joy. Everyone needs to
act. An idle brain without any action is nothing, but a devil’s workshop, which
is of no use and only spoils anybody’s prosperity in life. If you do your duty religiously, a sense of accomplishment
in the sense of spirituality will be developed and the same will provide you
the feeling of self-purification. A pious person always acts for enlightenment
and when achieves, a pure consciousness will evolve for your benefit and the
same will bring the welfare of others.
All of us are born with a special aptitude, ability
or God gifted quality. But most of us
are not able to identify the said attributes and utilize the same. You must identify your talent and invest your
efforts in that arena. Despite this,
people choose the vocations, which only provide lucrative benefits ignoring
their inborn talent. If Shakespeare would have been pushed to the field of
business, the world would have lost a brilliant playwright. When you choose a field and fix a higher target, somehow or the other, you
must ignore your self-centered attitude to achieve the same. If you are not
able to achieve the target, the reason could be your setting up an unrealistic
target. It is you only, who creates your
own impediments. No other person can
force you to accept anything, if you are steadfast in your decision. You must get rid of your selfishness, ego,
and small-mindedness. Perfection in you
is bound to emerge. The more ideal path
you set as a goal, the more you will be powerful and your energy level will
also be increased. The Lord Krishna
advocates for the Yagna sacrifice. The
ability to sacrifice is a distinct quality for any human being. To earn money
for your materialistic requirement, you have to forego and sacrifice a bit here
or there. Whether you are classified as
an author or a singer or a sports person, you have to sacrifice in order to
achieve success. You must carry out daily work and obligatory action without
giving attachment to the same. Come out of
the shackles of desire driven activity.
Your activity must provide you a joy of belongings and must provide
benefits not only to you, but to many people in the society. When your desire mounts up and you are not in a position
to fulfill them by ethical means,
you are allured to perform the same at any cost. At that point of time, your mind and body will
be so much tuned to perform desired driven work; you forget the real purpose of
doing work. So, unwanted desire is the
greatest enemy in your life. It makes your
ruin and it causes your failure and gives you sorrow and distress. It breaks
you to a level where your personality gets distorted. You are
mentally forced to engage in doing a certain things, which you are not
supposed to do.
When you are steadfast to achieve a higher
responsibility, you are not worried about lower desires and they cannot have a
grip on you. You are then so determined that you are not bothered about any mundane
issues and allurement. So, you must come
out of the shackles of physical desires, which will not only provide you
eternal bliss, but also you will be able to connect with higher consciousness.

Once you reach this stage, you will enjoy all types
of pleasures at the emotional and intellectual levels. Then whatever you do,
you think, you perform and you achieve – all will be giving you the desire to
accomplish more and more with a defined purpose. Finally, you enter the realm of the
spirit. Then all your desires simply
vanish. You enjoy a divine blessing.
Lord Krishna says there are two aspects of perfect
action – generating energy and preventing its dissipation. You use your energy, which is the resultant
output of your intellect, which will direct you to perform all actions in a
subtle and ideal way. When you set a
goal and decide to achieve the same with a full concentration, mind simply
surrender and body also follows your dictum. This action of yours is known as a
power of radical energy. If you utilize this energy, your power of intellect
will guide your mind to engage in
meaningful actions without allowing it to ponder on past deeds and future
probabilities. Otherwise, there will
be undulation on your mind and then
various desires entwine you unnecessarily and you get busy to do all
unproductive work. The real purpose of doing any work is to release you from
unwanted matter related to greed. You must induce your awareness, which is the
real force within you based on which you do work and accomplish the same with
perfection. You must increase your skill based action exercising the positive frame of mind. Then
you will realize what exactly motivates
you to do something?
