Effective thinking is an art

Your success in life is very much dependent how effective you think and how you convert your thoughts into actions to get meaningful results.  It is very easy to say this sentence, but in reality, it is tough.  The effective thinking is an intelligent thinking, which is required for your advancement in the career both professionally and spiritually. Forward thinking and to produce the powerful thoughts, you require concentration, peace of mind and there should not be any anxiety.  To focus on a particular subject and induce your thoughts, you require solitude and a great vigilance on your mind.  In today’s boisterous world, it is very difficult to get a silent place.  It is really a tough thing.  But unless you get solitude and you get isolated even for a few hours, some of the days on a regular basis, you will not be able to create a silent environment.  Without this environment, you will not be able to crystallize your thoughts. So, the first postulate to increase the power of thoughts is how to use silence as an inner quest and to practice the same.    In other words, it is the activity to make your mind quiet.  The speed of thoughts, travels very fast not allowing you to concentrate with full attention. For example, let us say, you are thinking of the professional chaos you faced in the office today and just immediately at the same time, you read the article in the paper focusing your thoughts on the contents.  So, you cannot avoid thoughts because you cannot control them.  But by silencing the mind, you can reduce the process of thinking. Thinking is closely linked to thoughts.  When you ponder or cling to useless thinking, you land into worries. The practice of silence is very essential to energize your consciousness, one of the prime factors of our understanding the motives of our thinking.  The German philosopher Nietzsche says, “Our greatest experiences are our quietest moments.”

You may say that who wants to stay aloof and invite silent surrounding?  If you analyze this fact, you will get two sides.  One is aloofness and painful.  The other one is solitude, which expresses your glory of being alone. Unless, you are alone, you may not be in a position to sharpen the power of thinking.  In this state only, you will be able to connect with your inner self.  Second, you have to hear your inner voice.  How you can raise this power to hear this voice?  By practicing to sit in a secluded place and closing your eyes, sit at least for five minutes to start with.

The second postulate is the power of silence to increase your mind power.  Through this, you will be able to create a silent space.  This space can be utilized to engage your mind power.  Slowly, your mind power will be so much energized that your negative thoughts will be less; you will mostly see everything in the positive direction. Even you land into any problem, you should be calm and use your power of thinking.  That is why; people say that you are in real trouble, please listen to your inner voice for remedies.  This inner voice is the power of mind.  It is like the answer you are searching in the outer world, it is hidden in your inner world.  But by our habit, we search the outer only because of our persistent association with the external happenings and getting influenced by the same.  This challenge can be met through the power of silence.  This power of silence is the second practice, which will be helpful to develop good and powerful thoughts.

Now, the third postulate is the listening.  When you combine this with the activities of silence, you will be more aware to connect yourself with your own powers.  Then only, you will be able to realize the teachings of Buddha.  He says, “Events happen, deeds are done, consequences happen, but there is no individual doer of deeds.” These philosophical thoughts are explained in Gita also.  What the teachings we get from Gita?  We have right to actions, but we should not hunch or show our greed for the outcomes.  This powerful exposition is scientifically and mathematically proven also.  You cannot predict hundred percent sure that the outcomes of your actions will yield desired results as anticipated by you.  The results may be good or may be worse.  You can only put your best efforts.  Therefore, our attention must focus more on the actions instead of outcomes.  The more we concentrate on the power of silence and the power of listening; we will be able to respond more accurately to the uncertainties of our lives.

Further, the practice of listening and silence combined together will open a path of enlightenment of your mind.  This type of mind is the container of powerful thinking.  This thinking will never provide you any anxiety or tension.  You won’t be perturbed with the uncertainties of what will happen tomorrow.  Even you face difficulties;   you must put your efforts to overcome the same.  The outcomes of any of your efforts will be mostly controlled by you. You will not be engaged in struggles and waste your time about the negativities at all.  Why we are not able to come out from this impasse?  The reason is that we always give much emphasis on the results.  Silence and listening both  help us to provide a lot more energy and we get totally charged and live in the present moment.  Then we become more mindful, conscious and alert.  In this process, we always give prominence to our thinking pattern, or utterance and our work involvement.  Ultimately, we recognize the power of silence as a tremendous positive mechanism to reinforce our thoughts in such a way that no negative energy can intrude in our lives. We then think only for a positive outcome and this thinking emanates from our heart very sincerely.  Then, we do our work only for the purpose of good intentions.  And good intention always brings good results.
