Remember God both in distress and happiness

God has created this world and decorated the same with all beauties and wonders, namely the moon, the sun, the stars, and the mountains. He then created the first humans in his image Adam and Eve and placed them in the Eden Garden. He gave them fruits and vegetables to eat, water to drink and authorities to rule over birds and animals. God was very happy to create all these. God instructed Adam and Eve to eat all fruits, except those belong to an Apple Tree in the middle of Eden on which snake resided. In the Bible, snake represented as Satan, who had all intentions of betrayal, deception, jealousy, scorns, temptation and wanted Adam and Eve to disobey God’s rules. Snake befriended with them and sowed seeds of poison in the minds of Adam and Eve to be against God. He tempted them to eat an apple, so that they could have an ultimate wisdom, knowledge and be alike the God. Adam and Eve ate an apple given by the snake to trust the wisdom and be similar to God. When God came to know that they disobeyed him, he was so upset and threw them out of the Eden Garden.

The question has arisen as to why Adam and Eve did not obey the God. Was it just because of the temptation of Snake? No, it was because of disbelief and was not having any faith in God’s plan. This trait is inherently received by us from our ancestors; Adam and Eve don't have faith in God even though they are his creation. God has that much of love for us that he has created us as his own image. He has given all what we need; yet, we have doubt in our mind and so many times, we show our frustration, particularly in our distress.

In day-to-day life, many a times, we hear from people complaining that God does not listen to their prayers or God is not favorable to us or he listens to all but not me. Actually, we pray but lacking faith and not by heart. Our prayers are not capable enough to open the door of God’s heart.  Every time, we blame him for a small failure, saying that it’s our misfortune that God is not looking at us. If a student fails in his exam, he blames that God does not help him. If a woman cannot conceive a baby, she blames God that he punishes her. If there is no rain, we blame him. If it’s raining cats and dogs, we blame that he is so hard. If we become ill, we blame him that he is cruel to us. Even a lift does not work in a shopping mall, we utter – “Oh God”. We never miss a single moment to complain the God for any odd or unfavorable situation, which is taken place in our lives. Many of us think that we are not like the one, who are very famous and celebrities. Why we lack something from others? We always compare ourselves with others as we cannot do what others do. Someone thinks that he is not intellectual like others. Another thinks that why God did not make him like Sachin Tendulkar. An average looking girl feels sad as why she is not looking like Aishwarya Rai. We always mourn what we are not made for. We never appreciate God’s creation and thank him for giving a precious life.

On many occasions when the difficult situation takes place, we get frightened and easily surrender to the problems rather to fight. We lose our faith in God. God has given us enough courage to face the problem. Yet, we put down all weapons before fight the battle. In fact, we are habituated to be in our comfort zone and don’t allow ourselves to bear a little pain. Life is such. Each moment brings new challenges and new problems. To be frightened and surrender to the situation is not just enough. Our minds are disturbed with worries about worldly things. We worry most of the time about food, drink, clothing, house, job and marriage.  Half of our life we waste in running after money. We like to chew up past history and worry about future on which none of us has any control and thus, we can’t enjoy our present. Why to worry about a thing which is already over. God has a perfect plan for each of us. He is the “Almighty” - Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. He is the father of all. He knows what to give, how much to give, when to give and who deserves what. In the Bible, Jesus said, “do not worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink or enough clothes to wear. Is not life more than food and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than birds are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing. If God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that is here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why don’t you have a little faith?”

One day, a wise man happened to attend a spiritual talk in a Church.  The priest took out a thousand rupee bank note from his wallet. He said to the people sitting in the Church that all who want this money raise their hands. Hands were raised in a great number. He then crushed the note with hands and said now who want this. Again, all hands were raised. He soaked the note in water and said who want this note. All people raised their hands. After, he threw the note in the mud and said who want this note. Hands were raised in the same number. The priest said that all wanted the note irrespective of not being in water or mud or crushed with hands. That’s because the value of the note remained same. Similarly, it does not matter how much time we fail in our life or fall down or get frustrated and circumstances made us kneel down, the value of life remains same. We are more valuable in the eye of God. Since, he has created us he will give what we require. Tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. We should believe him, his deeds, and each of his words blindly. Have faith in his creation and his plan. He wants us to face problems. He wants us to struggle hard. Yes, he wants us to remember him in our agonies. He really wants us to pray and pay high respect he deserves as a creator of the whole world. He has not said that he will not give pain, sorrow and hardships. But he will surely give courage to fight against difficulties.

Never lose hope. Pray by heart and with lasting faith. He must respond, sooner or later. If he delays in response, be patient. Make sure that he is planning something better for you. Remember, some miracles take time and have faith.
