Let go of your extra baggage

People want to participate in yoga to create a unification of body, mind and soul. It brings flexibility to various parts of your body, tones the muscle, rejuvenates your energy level. If you want to create  a conscious and disease free body, you have to practice yoga.   
What is yoga? In simpler form, it is stretching your hands, legs, circulating your hips, neck, and also perform meditation to increase your spiritual power. Yoga consists of many asanas, chakras to provide a steady  blood circulation  and in turn give you a well maintained and appealing body.

Yoga is derived from the ancient Indian history and it means integration and harmonization of all the parts of the body. Yoga is a Sanskrit word and it means Yug. The yoga is not only the subject of the saints, sages and spiritual people to achieve ‘’Moksha,’’ but also for the common people because of its numerous advantages. It can relieve you from stress, anxiety, it reduces your anger, it increases your concentration so that you can focus for a long time on any particular subject and it also alleviates your pain. By following various stretching exercises, asanas, breathing  exercises, you keep the harmony of your body  which can save  you from various imbalances in the body.

Further, you have to follow a yogic system.This system is a tool kit, which will give you fitness, stamina and act as an energy booster.  It will also help you to lose your unwanted emotional and mental baggage as well.  And believer or not, these baggages are one of the prime factors to increase your weight.  Now, if you are many or a few kilos overweight, you don’t get nervous or become a slave of anxiety how to reduce weight.  You simply follow a systemic and step-by-step approach and the same will help you reach your desired wish to reduce the weight.  Even, otherwise you are not at all in the bracket of overweight and still want to create a conscious, light and appealing body, you must remember the following pointers to make the same as a benchmark of your life. 

Hydrate yourself:

Drink plenty of liquids.  If not liquids, go for plain water at equal interval of time.  It is a pertinent fact that the more you hydrate your body, the more you will be of balanced weight.  Most of us are so dehydrated that we mistake our thirst response as a symptom of hunger.  In this scenario, we take more food and if the same is luscious, we even over-eat instead of just drinking more liquid or water.  Say a straight no to all fuzzy drinks, namely colas and sugar laden drinks.  To dehydrate your body, simply go in buttermilk, tender coconut water, wheatgrass juice or any fruit juice without the addition

Selection of foods:

Your selection of foods is very vital to help you not to gain weight.  You must consume the one which is rich in Prana or life force energy like fresh fruits and vegetables.  Many people take meal very fast without chewing and enjoying thoroughly.  This is a wrong practice.  Chewing the food and eating in a slow pace helps assimilate the nutrients and fulfills the body.   If you follow the wrong practice of eating, you will be overweight.

Alkalize your body and detox:

Unfortunately, your surrounding air and water are very acidic in nature because of the pollution.  Look for a good water purifying and alkalizing system and avoid non-organic products as pesticides and fertilizers as they are highly acidic.  These products will harm your body system and imbalance to increase your weight. So, it is very necessary to alkalize your body.  Spend time in green spaces. Spend time with positive minded people to go of all the limitations in life.  With the affiliation of these people, you can get rid of acidic emotions.  You can adopt many simple methods to detox.  Drinking lemon water and honey is very good.  You have to follow a simple detoxing program that does not demand more.  Many people follow the extreme methods of detoxification and in this process, invite health problem.  It is better to practice moderation.

Organic food habit:

Substitute foods. Eat dates or raisins when you desire to eat sweet.  You must consume whole wheat flour instead of white flour.  Eat hand made rice instead of white rice.  Consume brown sugar and avoid white one.  Eat foods which are organic and rich in fiber.  Drink herbal tea instead of milk tea or coffee.  Avoid alcohol and instead drink unsweetened juices.  Alcohol and coffee are one of the major causes of water gain.  If you desire to lose weight, but cannot resist your greed for alcohol and coffee, your mission will not be successful.

Breathe deeply:

You must learn the technique of Pranayama in your yoga class.  Be aware of your breathing pattern right throughout the day.  Breathe deeply, expanding your lungs so as to energize yourself.  You must follow the yogic tool kit to expand all three lobes of the lungs.  Always remember to be present to your breath and present to the present.  This is an important aspect of yogic system to correct your breathing to free your lungs from any congestion. 




Get rid of your emotions:

If you are drenched with emotional disharmony, release the same using the correct breathing.  Use various sounds to release stress.  Sounds establish a direct communication to your sub-conscious mind.  The best way to relieve you from emotion is to confine yourself in your bedroom and scream without disturbing your neighbor. You have to scream just for a fun to let out the steam.  The yogic system prescribes some structured sound practices. On your own, you can do the female cobra breath as per yoga.  Breathe in through the nose and breathe out through the teeth with a hissing sound. Perform this for ten rounds.  This is an effective way to release your pent-up irritation and stress.  This will be also helpful for you not over eating.  You will automatically eat less because you are emotionally over burdened.  People eat more when they are very comfortable.  Start feeling emotions and release them.  Don’t club yourself, with emotions and involve in the blame game.  Also, don’t suppress them as they will create unhealthy cravings for junk food or ready to eat fast food with coke or you will reach fantasies.  Avoid behaving like a ticking time bomb and release it on others.

Accountability:

You must be accountable to yourself and not to others for any shift, you are going to make in your life.  Plan an achievable goal for your life and achieve the same.  Once you have promised to achieve some goal, do it wholeheartedly.  Start enjoying efforts.  The result will automatically come.  Don’t delay it under the shelter that “I will do it tomorrow”.  There is a difference between impulsive behavior and doing what needs to be done immediately.  If you feel uncomfortable with your accountability to yourself, find out some mentor.  He should be an unbiased man and once you give this responsibility to him, he will ensure for your better future, but you have to report on your progress to him regularly.

Defocus and Refocus:

Get rid of the things which eat your energy unnecessarily.  You simply ignore it or let it be like that.  If you cannot take a decision for any less important work, take it in the future.   Focus on those things that keep you motivated.  Even they are of minor nature, do it immediately or take a decision for those things.




Enlist loving support:

Tell your friends and well-wishers not to provoke you to eat calorie rich food.  Tell your spouse, maid or to any other persons who provide you food to offer fruit salad or something light instead of oily food or desert.  You should get the people who help you rather than provoke you to eat rich foods.  In fact, calorie rich foods are just not helping you to achieve your mission of weight loss.  Clear your home of all the unhealthy stuff and replace them with healthy substitutes.

Connect yourself:

Cultivate the habit of remaining allure and be in solitude.  Don’t feel guilty about this. It is simply not possible that you will be praised by everybody so do not want wish to please everyone.  If you are feeling overwhelmed by the demands others make on you, step back and slow down.  This will actually make you more productive. 

Power of intention and visualization:

You have to always keep in mind that your weight is an ideal body weight, even though it is not the same. Hold the intention that you have a body of light and you  pulsate with light.  This will automatically give you feeling to shade your unwanted physical or emotional heaviness to reduce weight.

Love yourself:

Always love yourself as you are and where you know that you can make improvement in shift.  Most of us are conditioned to look up to those who are beautiful or knowledgeable or in a position of power or money.  Please make a note that you are worth what you are.  You must respect yourself even you don’t match to society’s standard of success.  You feel that you are loved by everyone.

Create a body of light:

You have to inculcate a habit of chanting hymns in your daily life.  Unfortunately, now-a-days, people only attribute this activity that too before the religious teachers, sages or gurus.  A real spirituality is about consciously grounding in the simple thing of life.  You must be grateful to mother earth for her love and support.  The spirituality will come when you treat your body as a temple of the divine.




Effort  effortlessly:

You must put your all efforts, effortlessly to do your works which you can achieve.  Don’t stress yourself for the things which you are not able to do.  You must differentiate with the things which can be done by you and which cannot be.  Do what is in your power and accept and let go of the rest.   There is no doubt that if you are consistent in your legitimate effort, you can definitely release your extra baggage.
