Live in the present

Most of us always refer to the past or discuss the future.  Nothing is wrong in this.  But doing so, if you miss the present of your precious life, which are ahead of you, and then it is a wrong way of leading the valuable life. You may altogether miss the charm of the present moment.  Many people, of course, do not bother about the past, and they seldom show their anxiety what they would accomplish in future.  They plan, but not at the cost of the present.  So, under this volatile situation of life’s paradox, what are you supposed to do?  You have to take your mind off the no-mind stage through prayer on a regular basis so that you fully focus on the present.  When the mind releases its instincts for attachment to any sensory objects and stops identification with its thought dances, the mind becomes quiet. When mind chases madly to the allurement of grandeur and shows a desire to the object of pleasure, they are mostly classified as extrovert thoughts. When you remove these outgoing thoughts, the condition of your mind will be like no-thought state. In the deep meditation, you can attain this state.

Thoughts cloud your mind and provoke you to outburst your emotions of various catalogs, and at different intensity evolve from the sources of past and future, and when you gather the lessons from the same, you will be either gloomy or happy depending on the qualities of the thoughts.  These good and bad thoughts confuse the individuals. Then, they either regret all those deeds, or they feel elated to reminisce of their past accolade. Sometimes, they even share the same with their family members.  Frankly speaking, this action has no meaningful value realization because you sacrifice the worthy moment of the present, which will never come back.

The future is the other source of thoughts, which will take you to all fantasies.  You will be allured to dream all those dreams mostly which are not going to materialize.  People prefer to dream what they want to see mostly. For example, you would like to have a fabulous profit in your business in the next financial year, or you may like to have a charming partner, or simply you would like to supersede your colleague and get promotion in your working.  Practically, to achieve these wishes, you have to plan, set goals and then struggle wholeheartedly, and most importantly, remain in the present.  Just remaining in the future mode for long, you will waste your precious moment of the present. The past is like to search all your colorful or lackluster events. These buried moments will give you a feeling as if you are walking down the path of memories with a meaningless mission. Why do people so? When they don’t want to face the present realities or, do not like to face the constraints of today.  Further, they do this wasteful exercise to pass the time and sit in the meaningless regrets. The more you remember those very regrets and colorful events, the more you will be attached to those irrelevant issues sacrificing the present.

When we disallow ourselves not to be preoccupied with the regrets of the past, we are forced to wander in the fairy castles of the future. You may ponder and become preoccupied with all futuristic fearful events, unnerving hopes, horrid dreams, and unnecessary expectations and in this way, you're becoming busy with the proposed future events will be a  wasteful exercise of your vital energy. Further, let us not think that when our mind is not rattled with various types of thoughts; it is quiet. It is a wrong notion.  When our minds are not involved in any worldly state of affairs that are right in front of us, it can select its private fields of agitation by digging out the past. It can even bringing the very rosy pictures of the future with the knowledge that it will never materialize.  In this state, you must practice and sit for meditation; get rid all thoughts. The great sages advise us to live moment to moment basis and be in the present. One should completely ignore the past and renounce the future.  During that time, the mind will reach a no-mind state with a complete focus on your all activities in hand.

The content of the present moment giving away all the things of the past and the future will lead to the absolute fullness of the Infinite. Eternity is possible to enjoy if you experience the sacred depth of the present. To live in the present, you have to forget the past and the future; you have to think of God and sit in prayer, even it is for a shorter time. Gradually, you have to increase the duration of this activity unless you achieve the state of Samadhi.  For that, of course, you need not live your worldly life. Of course, you cannot tell other to perform this activity on behalf of you. You have to do yourself.  Once you become habituated with the practice, you won’t bother either for the past or the future.  You will always be in the present.
